Our client, a world-renowned luxury hospitality group, is seeking a General Manager (Retail) to lead its merchandising, retail and lifestyle business in China. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this senior leadership role will drive the brand’s market development, oversee commercial performance, and lead a local team to establish the business from growth stage to long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full P&L responsibility for retail and lifestyle business across multiple channels.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies across retail stores, pop-ups, e-commerce, and corporate sales.
  • Drive brand awareness and engagement via social media, PR, and communications, ensuring strong luxury positioning.
  • Partner with product, supply chain, and finance teams on product development, inventory, sourcing, and financial planning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, partners, and key customers to expand presence in the market.
  • Lead customer experience strategies, ensuring service excellence aligned with global luxury standards.
  • Manage, inspire, and develop a scaled local team, embedding people development and brand culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations and group policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in luxury retail or related sectors, with at least 6 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong track record in both online and offline retail; experience in confectionery or F&B is a plus.
  • Proven ability to drive commercial growth, build brand presence, and lead large-scale teams.
  • Strong strategic, commercial, and leadership acumen with international exposure.
  • Excellent command of Mandarin and English (written & spoken).
