A renowned luxury hospitality group is currently looking for Director of Operations – Japan. This is a newly created position based in the Tokyo Regional Office, with regular travel required to key destinations such as Kyoto. The role will be instrumental in supporting the Group’s expanding presence in Japan and in driving operational excellence across its properties in the region.

Scope of Responsibility:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and strategic direction of multiple properties across Japan.
  • Act as the key operational liaison between hotel GMs and the regional leadership team.
  • Ensure alignment with brand standards, guest experience, and service delivery excellence.
  • Provide operational guidance, performance monitoring, and support to property-level leadership teams.
  • Participate in regional planning and contribute to the execution of key initiatives, including talent development and operational sustainability.


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive hotel management experience, including 3–5 years in a multi-property Director of Operations, Hotel Manager, or General Manager capacity.
  • Experience working in Japan or a deep understanding of the Japanese hospitality landscape and business etiquette is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead operations, manage budgets, and execute business strategy.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Japanese is a significant advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related discipline.
  • Willingness to be based in Tokyo and travel frequently within Japan.
  • Passionate about guest experience, operational excellence, and sustainability.

  • Candidates currently holding cluster-level operational roles or seasoned GMs/Hotel Managers ready for a regional role are encouraged to apply.
